It all started back in 1977 when a young 24-year-old U of A student named Tony Terry Jr. grabbed a few great friends from the drama department and headed to Alaska! Skagway, Alaska to be exact. They founded the "Mighty Moose Melodrama Theatre" and the one and only production was called "Gold Fever! or Danger at Bonanza Creek!" This show was written by Howard Allen, designed and painted by Tom Benson, and produced by Tony Terry. After a long, cold, BUT FUN summer, the troupe said "The heck with this! Let's head back to the desert!" Shortly after their return to Tucson and with the help of Tony's brother Tom, they opened The Gaslight Theatre in an old red barn at Trail Dust Town on Tanque Verde Road. They have musical comedy melodramas 6 nights a week, and 5 different shows per year. Westerns, sci-fi spoofs, Enjoy their famous Christmas Shows, and everything in between- you can find it all here at The Gaslight! Cheer the hero and Boo the villain while enjoying your favorite beer or soft drink, pizza, ice cream, and mountains of free popcorn!

This is a family-friendly, drive-thru event that features live musical entertainment, Folklorico dancers, trick roping, and over 80 historical and colorful wagons and carriages all displayed along a winding route on the Tucson Rodeo Grounds. Visitors will see horses that are among the most beautiful, largest breed of draught horses in the world. Casa de los Niños benefited from this event.
The Tucson Folk Festival is a FREE and accessible festival celebrating Americana/Folk Music traditions and all the wonderful variations, including American bluegrass, blues, country, jazz, Celtic, zydeco, and various styles of Latin and Mexican music! The festival features three stages and venues with a range of ways to enjoy and watch the festival, including three free livestream broadcasts!
