Toledo Attractions
Whether you’re inclined to spend the day in nature, art galleries, or hitting the slots at a casino, Toledo has you covered and then some with its diverse array of attractions.
True to its reputation as the Glass City, Toledo’s Museum of Art contains vast collections and exhibits that go beyond traditional fine art. Although the stately halls are adorned with paintings, sculptures, netsuke, and decorative arts, the museum is famously unique for its glass studio and collection of historical glass artifacts. Most recently in 2020, it hosted the awe-inspiring Fireflies on the Water installation by Yayoi Kusama, which features a small, dimly lit room surrounded by glass on all sides, with strings of LED lights hanging from the ceiling. The exhibit is intended to be visited one person at a time for the ethereal and reflective nature of the art.
Just outside of the city center of Toledo, the Toledo Botanical Garden is a peaceful, whimsical way to spend a spring or summer day. The meticulously curated gardens sprawl over 50 acres with exhibits such as the secret forest, pondside meadow, rosegarden, Sycamore Allee, and the hidden treehouse. In the summer, the grounds host a series of jazz concerts.
Directly on the banks of the Maumee River, the Hollywood Casino Toledo asks: are you feeling lucky? The grand estate features 20 live poker tables, 60 table games, and 2,000 slot machines to try your hands at. Additionally, visitors can dine at one of the five luxury restaurants within the casino, and take in live music and entertainment with their refreshments.

Despite Toledo’s city presence, it’s many festivals and annual events are of a decisively country-inspired, community atmosphere.
Each year in early August, Toledo hosts the annual Northwest Ohio Rib Off— a bbq lover’s heaven on Earth. The competition doesn’t end there, however— this over the top festival also features a cornhole tournament! Meat lovers can’t miss this day filled with delicious meals and live music.
Join the thousands of other fair-goers in Ohio (and Michigan) at the Fulton County Fair in September! For the first weekend in September, the fairgrounds in Toledo are transformed into a massive get together in the country. The traditional hallmarks of the county fair include carnival rides, horse shows, concerts, craft tents, tons of food stands, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, classic car displays, and so much more!
